When I was 5 I was hit by an ambulance which fractured my skull and put me in a coma for some time. After 6 months I was discharged but under strict doctors’ orders not to exercise. Later in my life, I suffered from migraines but then in my early twenties, I started to get back problems so I visited a Chiropractor regularly.
My back pain would subside temporarily after treatment, but then the migraines became so bad that I ended up many pain medications just to get me through the day. After an MRI came back all clear I was told to just accept the pain as “the norm” and get on with life.
Then a few months ago my back pain came back with a vengeance, I couldn’t even get myself out of bed. When I did manage to get up I was limping constantly due to shooting pains up my legs. At this point, I contacted a local clinic after a recommendation from a friend.

I have to admit, I was dubious at first. Discovering something ‘new’ after 20 years of trying all sorts of different physios, masseurs and chiropractors made me a bit cynical, but I thought I’d give it ago. Now, six months down the line, I can say the results are life-changing.

I have had various treatments through the years from chiropractors and osteopaths due to ongoing problems with my back, neck and shoulders. I had a knee operation in my teens and a hip operation over 10 years ago. I was in pain every day.
Months before having treatment from Upright I had a fall, and developed pubic symphysitis, an arthritic condition that had been giving me searing pain in my groin (only temporarily relieved by a steroid injection I had) and then suffered a slipped disc. I was desperate for some relief from the pain and the restrictions that it brought about.
I went to Upright in May 2016 and have gone from walking with a stick to running for the bus. Not bad for a pensioner! I am able to breathe better and have tons more energy. The good advice regarding sitting, sleeping and standing has been invaluable.

I had a trapped nerve in my neck leading to pain in my arm and a lack of feeling in my hand.
Having been to osteopaths, physiotherapists, cupping therapists and sports massage therapists; nothing seemed to work.
After I had an MRI scan I was advised by my GP that surgery may be required.
As a last resort, I pursued treatment with Upright, and within two visits I gained strength and feeling in my left arm and hand. I was then able to get back into the gym and feel a lot stronger.

I had been suffering from a herniated disc for a few years, causing me immense sciatica pain, and making day-to-day things extremely difficult.

Taran – Severe Ankle Fracture
I was recommended Upright to help with my posture as I had broken my ankle badly in July 2021 and had surgery in August where my bones were pinned together. I was now in September 2021 and trying to put more weight on my ankle and improve my walking.
After months on the sofa, my posture was bad and I was still only taking short steps while walking. They explained very well how ABC could help me with my recovery and how better posture would help me walk better. I stopped needing crutches almost straight away!
I saw great improvements every week and was able to leave the clinic walking better and taking bigger strides every time as my posture improved. I felt taller, straighter and felt I could breathe better.
I did not believe that ABC would be able to help me but it has really surprised me and is something I will continue with to help me.
